Thriving Pelvic Health is unique in that we come see you in the comfort of your own home. This is great if you are pregnant, postpartum, or you want to feel more comfortable by being in your own space.

Thriving Pelvic Health is a private pay practice. Being private pay allows us to individualize your sessions and address your goals rather than being restricted by what insurance covers or dictates. This allows us to take a whole body approach and meet you where you are at. Being cash-based often allows clients to spend less time attending therapy as your therapist is better able to focus on your needs and goals. Upon request, we can provide a super bill (invoice) that you can try to submit to insurance for possible reimbursement for “out of network” services. You can also use HSA/FSA funds to pay for services. Payment will be collected at the end of each session.

At Thriving Pelvic Health we use a holistic approach to pelvic floor therapy. We address a wide range of areas as the pelvic floor is not an isolated part of the body, but is impacted by the body as a whole. Each session will include assessment and addressing other areas of impact depending on what each individual needs including addressing nervous system regulation, sensory concerns, mental health, life transitions, breathe work, body mechanics, diet impact, and posture. These areas are important to your daily activities including participation in your job, taking care of your child, completing household activities, intimacy, exercise, etc.
Your therapist will come to you in the comfort of your home. You are more than welcome to have children present and/or a partner present during your session. If you would feel more comfortable without your child/children present I would make sure that a partner or family member is present to watch the children so that you can focus on the session and to decrease stress.

The best place to start is with a free consultation so we can get to know each other and you can ask all the questions that you have. Next we complete an evaluation which usually lasts 1.5 hours. This is where I get to learn your story, concerns, and goals. The evaluation usually consists of an assessment of breathe, functional assessment of how your body moves, and other assessments specific to your individual needs.
There are four different options for assessment and which one we complete is entirely up to you:
1.Feedback-Based assessment where you are fully dressed.
2.Non-Contact Visual Exam: This involves being undressed from the waist down with observation of how your muscles are moving without touch.
3.External Assessment: Undressed, with external assessment only (involves touch).
4.Internal Exam
The assessment ends with education and some practical steps to start you on your pelvic health journey. Each subsequent treatment session is one hour and focused on your individualized needs and concerns. The amount of treatment sessions depends on your specific needs. Some clients may require 3 sessions while another may need 10 sessions. On average clients often need 5-6 sessions, but your therapist will have a better idea of how many session following your evaluation.

The length of pelvic floor therapy is individualized to each client’s needs and goals. Our focus is on empowering you to feel confident in managing your health through education, connecting to your body, and learning functional skills that are easily applicable to your everyday routines.

Yes! There is no TMI in pelvic floor therapy. An internal pelvic floor assessment gives us knowledge about how your pelvic floor muscles are functioning, but it is not necessary to assessing the “why” behind the symptoms that you are experiencing. At Thriving Pelvic Health we provide many options for assessment that do not include an internal exam. You get to choose what type of assessment is most comfortable for you.
-
No. Occupational therapists have direct access in Colorado meaning that a referral is not required. If you are pregnant and request internal work we will have you request a referral from your doctor for your safety and wait to complete internal work until after the first trimester. If you request a super bill to try and submit for reimbursement through insurance a referral may be helpful.
